An unknown person is said to have conducted massive amounts of water from a stream in Swabia.
The result: numerous fish, crabs and mussels died.
Mönchsdeggingen - Hundreds of fish, crabs and mussels have died in a stream in the Donau-Ries district.
A farmer (62) reported the partially empty stream near Mönchsdeggingen on Saturday (August 13).
A police spokeswoman said on Sunday.

An unknown person is said to have channeled massive amounts of water from the stream, as investigators suspect.
The surviving animals were taken to other bodies of water.
The police could not say how extensive the damage is.
It was also unclear how the water was drained from the creek.
Under the law, withdrawals of this magnitude are punishable by law.

As a result of the heat and drought, many bodies of water in Bavaria currently have little water anyway.
The situation in Nuremberg is also tense.

"Under the current conditions, it can damage the water bodies as well as the flora and fauna if water is taken from rivers, streams and lakes, but also from wells and springs, for example for garden irrigation," the city of Nuremberg continued.
Withdrawals from the waters by means of pumps are not subject to public use and are generally prohibited unless permission has been granted for this.
There is a penalty.
