An unknown person is said to have conducted massive amounts of water from a stream in Swabia.

The result: numerous fish, crabs and mussels died.

Mönchsdeggingen - Hundreds of fish, crabs and mussels have died in a stream in the Donau-Ries district.

A farmer (62) reported the partially empty stream near Mönchsdeggingen on Saturday (August 13).

A police spokeswoman said on Sunday.

An unknown person is said to have channeled massive amounts of water from the stream, as investigators suspect.

The surviving animals were taken to other bodies of water.

The police could not say how extensive the damage is.

It was also unclear how the water was drained from the creek.

Under the law, withdrawals of this magnitude are punishable by law.
