Please note that the end of this article contains revelations about the thirteen episodes of season 6 of
Better Call Saul
broadcast on Netflix since April 18.
The ultimate episode of
Better Call Saul
highlights the different facets of the character played by Bob Odenkirk: the humanity and healthy determination of Jimmy McGill contrast with the greed and immorality of Saul Goodman.
In Omaha, Nebraska, Gene Takavic is unmasked and arrested by the police.
Faced with all his misdeeds committed under the name of Saul Goodman, he uses all the malice of the latter to manage to negotiate an improbable sentence of seven years in prison in a five-star penitentiary in North Carolina.
But discovering that Kim Wexler had the courage to confess his involvement in the death of his former boss Howard Hamlin, he operates a 180 degree turn during a trial where he becomes Jimmy McGill again.
In the presence of his ex-wife, he confesses, assumes all his faults, even takes responsibility for the suicide of his brother Chuck,
and ends up in a New Mexico prison with an 86-year sentence.
It is with a liberated spirit, totally at peace, that he finds Kim Wexler for a symbolically strong visit.
