Since the 1970s, colorful neon signboards have illuminated the bustling and bustling city of Hong Kong, which was once an indispensable landscape of our city.
However, in the past two decades, due to production costs, building safety supervision and other reasons, they have been gradually eliminated and demolished.
There are fewer and fewer neon signboards still shining at night. One of them is located in Jordan. It is the signboard of the time-honored Chinese dress jacket "Guan Nanhua", which has been standing for nearly half a century.
"Guan Nanhua" said on social media that two neon signboards were ordered to be removed by the government. Today (16th) is the last day. Turn off the lights at 11 pm to say goodbye, and build a tent tomorrow.
The neon sign of "Kuan Nan Hua" has been hailed as one of the five distinctive neon signs in Hong Kong by many foreign travel websites, and has also been recommended by the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
The store contacted the M+ Museum to take in the sign, but received no response, so after the neon sign was removed, it will be disposed of in the landfill.
