50 talents display their paintings at the end of the Children's Art and Painting Forum in Damascus

The children's paintings displayed this evening in the garden of the Cultural Center in Abu Rummana carried a lot of spontaneity and beauty, loaded with the love of life with its subjects and colors, as part of the closing exhibition of the Children's Art and Painting Forum.

The forum, which was organized by the House of Arabic Calligraphy and Arts Association, in cooperation with the Directorate of Culture of Damascus, came within the activities of the association’s second annual Fine Art Festival, and over a period of three days in the center’s garden, it included about 50 distinguished talents in the art of drawing from children between the ages of 8 and 12 years.

Regarding the forum, plastic artist Reem Kabtan, chairperson of the association’s board of directors, said in a statement to SANA: Our goal in this forum is to provide an opportunity for the largest possible number of children talented in drawing from several areas in Damascus and its countryside, in addition to a number of children from the province of Quneitra to gather and draw together in one spirit that reflects the state of social integration. For this important age group, they express their ideas and visions of life under the supervision of the association’s professors and volunteers.

In turn, the young plastic artist Maya Al-Ahmad, a member of the association, pointed out that her supervision of a group of children during the forum allowed her to get close to the innate world of childhood, which is full of passion and love for art, indicating that she dealt with them with a lot of interaction and spontaneity to come up with important artistic results based on the collective spirit and enrichment. Visual taste in all participating children.

As for the young plastic artist, Zamzam Al-Hajj, “a volunteer in the association and one of the forum’s supervisors,” she explained that the forum achieved its goals in supporting the participating children and integrating them with each other, as they are from several geographical areas, while giving them the necessary encouragement to continue on the path of art and introducing them to the atmosphere of teamwork and drawing methods according to the right foundations.

The 12-year-old girl, Zumrud Suwaid, who comes from Quneitra Governorate, expressed her happiness to participate in the forum, during which she executed two paintings filled with joyful colors, indicating that the forum helped her acquire new artistic skills that enabled her to express what goes on inside her through colours.

The 12-year-old child, Zaid Mohsen, drew a painting about the sunset, and explained that he learned to combine colors together during the forum thanks to the supervisors' directions, in addition to making new friends.

As for the 11-year-old girl, Shams Mualla, who comes from the suburb of Harasta in the Damascus countryside, she drew a painting bearing her optimistic vision of life, stressing that she benefited from her friends, the children participating in the forum, and from the supervisors, in learning new ways of drawing and coloring.
