An agricultural property in the Upper Palatinate caught fire in the night, 40 animals died.
The damage goes into the millions.
Treffelstein – On Tuesday night (August 16), an agricultural property in Treffelstein (Cham district, Upper Palatinate) caught fire.
The reason for this is still unclear, as the police said in a press release early in the morning.

A machine hall and stables were affected by the fire.
Fortunately, the flames were prevented from spreading to a neighboring house.
There were 100 cattle in the barn when the fire broke out.
According to the current state of knowledge, about "40 dead animals must be assumed," according to the police.
The other animals were able to escape from the stables.

Agricultural property in Treffelstein burns: 1.5 million euros in damage
To fight the flames, "there were support forces from the Czech Republic at the scene, in addition to a large number of surrounding fire brigades," according to the officials in the press release.
According to initial estimates, the amount of damage is around 1.5 million euros.

The Waldmünchen police station, in consultation with the KPI Regensburg, has started an initial investigation into the cause of the fire.
