The talents of the blind young woman, Lina Shobak, have diversified to fascinate the eyes with her unique bamboo products after they were created by nails who mastered this industry with high craftsmanship that reflected a stream of innate excellence in her artistic talent that did not prevent her from completing her scientific studies and obtaining an educational qualification diploma from the University of Aleppo, in addition to her persistent work in developing X-rays at Aleppo University Hospital and spending a lot of free time with her brother playing chess.

The young woman, Lina, talks to the SANA Youth Bulletin about her beginning of learning the craft of making bamboo baskets and her love for it since childhood. She says: “I learned to make bamboo baskets while I was in school since I was ten years old and considered it a unique hobby that I worked on and during the war on Syria, I started buying bamboo and making simple products. With a variety of shapes, including small baskets, tissue boxes, boxes of different sizes, and others.”

She added: I start my work by placing straw in hot water, and it has several types of thin and peeled ones, and colored and light plastic types that are made in the same way as natural bamboo. I use wood or metal structures with it that are previously made by the carpenter or blacksmith. beautiful.

She pointed out that she faced some difficulties in her work, including not having sufficient equipment to install plastic bamboo on the metal and the lack of space because she manufactures it at home, as well as the high cost of the raw materials used, especially bamboo, whose price per kilogram exceeds 80,000 pounds, pointing to her participation in several exhibitions and marketing of her products. via social media.

The distinction of the young woman, Lina, did not stop here. Rather, it proceeded in parallel with her educational attainment by completing the university education stage, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Arabic language from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Aleppo, and continuing to study the educational qualification diploma, which depends on practical sessions rather than theory.

SANA’s camera escorted Lina to the Faculty of Education at the University of Aleppo, and she was walking at a confident pace, which she memorized with the help of the metal cane inside the building and to meet with the supervisors of her studies in the diploma. She is practical and has a scientific ambition towards broad horizons for the future, and she still remembers the questions that were asked to her at the beginning of her diploma application, and this confirms her presence and commitment to her studies.

Lina has also been an employee at the University Hospital at the University of Aleppo for more than seven years and works in the radiology department by developing images, where she receives films after filming them for patients, developing them and packing them again in a dark room. She worked in the telephone exchange in the hospital, receiving calls and transferring them to the hospital departments. She says: She memorizes about 700 quadruple numbers and about 400 mobile numbers, and she masters her work with continuous focus.

The head of the department in the hospital says: Lina has been able to adapt to work and life, has a strong attention, ability to learn and train, has a strong observation, memorizes many numbers and keeps pace with the developments of the profession. .

The mother, Sanaa Shoubak, had a prominent role in caring for, embracing and encouraging Lina from a young age to study and taking her daily to school. She says with a lump that accompanied her shedding tears: It is her eyes that she could not see with, and she still is until she entered the university and finished her university stage, and with her attachment and love for the profession of making bamboo baskets, she was keen To secure all its needs of raw materials, as it has achieved success in all its business.
