Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fengyi described US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's recent visit to Taiwan as a "complete farce."
The RIA Novosti news agency quoted Fengi as saying today in a speech during the 10th Moscow Conference on International Security: Pelosi's visit and the interference of external forces in the situation around Taiwan will not lead to any good, stressing that Taiwan is part of China and the issue of Taiwan is an internal Chinese affair.
Fengyi added: This move by the United States is a major blow to the base of bilateral relations between the United States and China.
This month, Pelosi made a provocative visit to Taiwan as part of an Asian tour, and her visit was strongly rejected and denounced by China.
