Ground-breaking ceremony for the major VR Bank project in Erling.

Erling

- The preliminary planning took a lot of time, was changed and was therefore suspended for a year and a half in between - the former branch of VR Bank in Erling was even briefly converted into a rapid test center.

There is now nothing left of the old building on Herrschinger Straße;

"With our new building in Erling, we want to create a modern bank branch for our customers as well as contemporary living and working space in the beautiful Andechs region," said Thomas Vogl, CEO of VR Bank Starnberg Herrsching Landsberg, at the start on Friday.

The second deputy district administrator, Britta Hundesrügge, and Andechs' second mayor, Robert Klier, also attended the ground-breaking ceremony.

A three-storey building complex with 20 residential units, a VR Bank branch and four other commercial units as well as an underground car park is being built on the Herrschinger Straße 11 property on 2,600 square meters.

Two residential and commercial buildings with 22 apartments were originally planned on the site.

As reported, the VR Bank responded to requests from residents and reduced the dimensions accordingly.

The bank has canceled the smaller of the two planned buildings, a three-in-hand, each with 140 square meters of floor space on Raiffeisenstrasse.

There should be car parking spaces there.

A total of 74 parking spaces are now planned, 22 more than in the first draft, the planner explained when the draft was presented a year ago.

He had also spoken of 17 residential units,

20 apartments are currently planned in the three-storey building.

A bakery branch with a café and the VR Bank branch were planned from the start.

According to the initial plans, the construction project should have been completed long ago, and construction was scheduled to start in spring 2020.

However, a change in the planning office of VR Bank delayed the project.

The new planning was created under the leadership of the Dragomir Stadtplanung office in Munich.

In the autumn of last year, the Andechs building committee finally approved the plans, so that demolition work could begin in the spring two years late.

The new building is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
