Crack trafficking in Paris: 113 people arrested since the beginning of August

This Tuesday, the Paris police headquarters drew up the conclusions of its assessment of the action plan against crack, put in place by the government in Île-de-France.

According to this report, nearly 113 people were arrested over the period from August 4 to 15, 2022, in particular for drug law violations, intentional violence, street sales or concealment of theft.

These arrests were made following 3,261 checks.

As part of operations to combat irregular immigration, nearly 132 people were checked, including 14 foreigners who were ordered to leave French territory.

Still according to this report, an average of 200 police officers daily were able to be engaged in the sectors of Auguste Baron, Porte de la Villette, Corentin Cariou, Stalingrad, as well as Aubervilliers-Pantin and the Republican reconquest district of Quatre Chemins. , “specifically in the fight against crack, insecurity and the nuisances that result from it”.

The presence of drug addicts in the evening always monitored

The mission of these 200 law enforcement agents "apart from arresting perpetrators of various offenses in the act of committing offenses and combating trafficking of all kinds, is to systematically disperse any group of drug addicts, groups which generate disturbing public order”.

According to the Prefecture of Police, "although the appearance during the day has improved significantly, efforts must continue and will be maintained, particularly in the evening and at night in order to relieve the impact of the presence of drug addicts on the tranquility of local residents and tradespeople ".
