Washington – The wife of the US President, Jill Biden, has tested positive for the corona virus.
The White House in Washington said she had only mild symptoms.
Her husband, US President Joe Biden, who has just recovered from an infection with the virus, has tested negative.
The First Lady was double vaccinated against the virus and received two booster shots.
Jill Biden developed mild symptoms Monday night while vacationing with her husband in South Carolina, the White House said.
An antigen rapid test was initially negative, a PCR test then positive.
She will now isolate herself for at least five days and be treated with the drug Paxlovid.
The US President wanted to travel to Washington as planned, in compliance with the security measures planned by the CDC health authority, to sign the new climate and social package there on Tuesday afternoon.
