According to the lawsuit, which was filed against the manufacturer "Procter & Gamble" and the marketer "Diplomat" due to a malfunction caused by the connection of the fasteners of size 3-6 diapers, the product "does not fulfill the purpose for which it was intended - and resulted in cases of soiling with necessities" • The attorney who filed the lawsuit: " It is worrying that there has not yet been a recall"

A class action lawsuit in the amount of approximately NIS 8.8 million was filed against the companies "Procter & Gamble" and "Diplomat", which manufacture and market Pampers premium diapers, this following the publication in "Israel Hayom" according to which there was a malfunction in the production line of the diapers, which caused a weakness in the connection of the fasteners of diapers in sizes 3-6.

According to the lawsuit, filed by attorney Valeria Flexberg and one of the consumers of the diapers in the Central District Court in Lod, it is written that "the subject of this lawsuit is the production, marketing and sale of defective disposable diapers to the respondents' customers.

The manufacturing defect caused the right clasp of the diaper to break, whose function is to keep the diaper on the child's body, and in fact without it the diaper cannot function as a diaper and fulfill its intended purpose.

As a result, the diapers that were purchased on the dates relevant to the lawsuit were opened after the children were diapered, causing unfortunate cases of soiling with necessities."

It also reads: "This request for the approval of a class action was born after the applicant, a regular customer of the respondents, repeatedly experienced cases of 'urine leakage' from his son's diaper, which led to his son repeatedly waking up crying after he wet himself, his bed and bedding, his bed and blankets were wet , as well as all of his clothes. After a long time, the applicant realized that the reason for this was a defect in the diaper that caused it to open after changing, and that it was a serial error in many diapers in sizes 3-6, which were marketed during at least the last month and a half."

The lawsuit also states that "the respondents knew about these manufacturing defects, but chose to market and not collect the diapers from stores and consumers (hereafter: 'recall'), so that additional parents purchased them and suffered additional damages. We note that in an article published in 'Israel Hayom', a mother described from the center of the country that she had to buy four packages in different places two weeks apart, and all of them were found to have a production fault that caused shameful results, in which the girl soiled the daycare, the playground and the bed. It should be noted that this is a single production line, and not all the premium diapers in size 3-6."

The company announced at the time: "The Pampers brand from Procter & Gamble works to produce the best, highest quality, and most comfortable diapers in the world. A thorough inspection at the factory revealed that a random malfunction in a single production line caused a weakness in the connection of the clasps in a limited number of Pampers premium diapers sizes 3-6. "serial error".

Attorney Flexberg told Israel Hayom: "After the lawsuit was filed, I received additional evidence from many Pampers customers about the large number of cases in which defective diapers were sold, and the many damages caused to parents and children as a result.

Although the lawsuit was filed a long time ago, it is worrying that no orderly recall has yet been carried out in which the buyers and stores were required to return the defective products, and no orderly notice was published to consumers so that they could be careful of using the products due to the damages and inconvenience that may be caused as a result.

I hope that Pampers will act as soon as possible in order to reduce the damage caused to the public due to the defect."

There was no response from Pampers.
