The government has launched a plan to combat sanitation blackspots. Deputy Chief Secretary Cheuk Wing-hing led officials on Sunday (14th) to inspect the sanitation blackspots in the back lanes of Yau Tsim Mong District, including the back lanes of Tong Mi Road in Mong Kok.
The FEHD replied today (16th) that a total of about 3 tons of waste and rubbish were cleared in the back lane of Tong Mei Road that day, and from May to July this year, 254, 230 and 242 were issued in Hong Kong for the illegal display of publicity materials respectively. A fixed penalty notice was issued, and it did not state whether a ticket was issued to the "Tongqu King" who posted the sign on the street.

When Zhuo Yongxing inspected the back lane of Tongwei Road a few days ago, he found a number of abandoned motorcycles, and asked the relevant departments to remove the motorcycles; he also called for the cleaning of the advertisements on Tongqu Street.
The FEHD said today that a total of about 3 tonnes of waste and rubbish were removed from the back lane of Tong Mi Road that day.
In addition, the authorities pointed out that under section 104A(1) of the Public Health and Municipal Services Ordinance (Cap. 132), it is an offence for any person to display or post a placard or poster on private or government land unless he has obtained written permission.
Offenders are liable to a maximum fine of $10,000 and a daily fine of $300 upon conviction.
According to records, from May to July, FEHD issued 254, 230 and 242 fixed penalty notices in Hong Kong for the illegal display of publicity materials respectively.

The FEHD emphasized that during the "Government's Anti-hygiene Black Spot Plan", it will focus on cooperating with other relevant departments to deal with the problems of many hygiene and street management black spots in Hong Kong.
