The Russian President's special envoy to Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, confirmed that members of the former Afghan special forces have joined the extremist nationalist groups in Ukraine.
Kabulov said in a statement to RIA Novosti news agency that "large numbers of members of the special forces of the former regime in Afghanistan have fled the country and are still waiting for permission to enter the United States and Western countries that made promises to them without fulfilling them, which constitutes a rude deal," noting that these soldiers began Part of them join the terrorist organization ISIS and the other part join the Ukrainian nationalists as mercenaries for money.
Kabulov added, "Russia also does not want the planes and helicopters that Afghan soldiers fled to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan on board in Ukraine a year ago," pointing out that the United States insists on keeping these helicopters and refuses to return them to Afghanistan, which poses a danger in the possibility of handing them over to the Ukrainian forces.
It is noteworthy that after the Taliban movement came to power in Afghanistan in August last year, the pilots of the Afghan Air Force and their relatives fled to neighboring Uzbekistan on board planes and helicopters of the Afghan Air Force, while local media quoted Uzbek officials at the time that their country did not intend to return these helicopters and planes to the country. Afghanistan under the pretext that "it is an American property".
