Health Minister Karl Lauterbach is said to have left the isolation too early after his corona infection.
Two charges have been filed against him.
Berlin – At the beginning of August, Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) fell ill with the corona virus.
Since he took part in a cabinet meeting again after six days, he is now accused of violating the Corona rules.
Only if he was already symptom-free at this point in time is there no violation.
After two politicians have filed a complaint, the Berlin police are investigating.
Former Berlin MP Marcel Luthe is one of those who reported Lauterbach.
He assumes that Lauterbach left his isolation, although he still had symptoms.
However, the 10-day isolation may only be ended early if you have been symptom-free for 48 hours.
This is what the Berlin Infection Protection Ordinance stipulates.

Lauterbach may have betrayed himself.
In the ARD interview on August 9th, he had asserted that he was negative again and "the PCR test is also well over 30, so I'm no longer considered contagious".
On Twitter, however, he caused doubts with a statement: "Hope the recovery will be complete soon."

Luthe therefore assumes that Lauterbach still had symptoms at that time.
"The principle of equal treatment requires that the case be clarified publicly and that Mr. Lauterbach be held accountable," said Luthe, who now works as head of the good governance union, in his ad.
No other standard should apply to the minister than to the other citizens.

Luthe told
the
Berliner Zeitung that there were “dozens of people accused of similar violations and who should be punished for them”.
Therefore he calls for "equal treatment of citizens and the Minister of Health".
The Berlin AfD politician Eva-Marie Doerfler, who also filed a complaint against Lauterbach, sees it that way.
"A man who tames an entire country with confused, unfounded and unspeakable regulations, but does not comply with them himself, is intolerable as a minister," she said, calling for the health minister to be dismissed.

"The minister was symptom-free for 48 hours before he visited the cabinet on Wednesday." Lauterbach himself also contradicts the allegations.
He told Der
Spiegel
that 48 hours before leaving isolation he had tested negative three times.
He no longer had any symptoms, but did not feel quite fit yet.
The fact that his case is being questioned does not bother the 59-year-old.
"People are quite rightly asking if I've broken isolation rules.
Because anyone who does that endangers their fellow human beings.”

On August 4th, the Ministry of Health made Lauterbach's infection public.
A day later, he wrote on Twitter that his symptoms were "still mild."
Lauterbach has been vaccinated four times for the best possible protection.
He also took the Covid drug Paxlovid.
