The head of the Russian National Defense Control Center, Lieutenant-General Mikhail Mezintsev, announced that more than fifty foreign ships are still detained in Ukrainian ports.

"56 foreign ships from 16 countries are still detained in six Ukrainian ports: Kherson, Nikolaev, Chernomorsk, Ochakov, Odessa and Yuzhny," TASS news agency quoted Mizintsev as saying.

Mizintsev added that, starting from the first of this month, 16 ships left Ukrainian ports within the framework of the initiative of mutual understanding regarding the safe export of wheat through Ukrainian ports. However, the dangers to maritime navigation and port infrastructure due to drifting Ukrainian mines are still threatening the countries bordering the Black Sea.

In this context, Mizintsev stressed that the Russian Armed Forces provide the appropriate and necessary conditions for the ongoing operations in two sea lanes for humanitarian assistance.

He added that the Ukrainian forces set up a base in a kindergarten in Avdiivka, north of Donetsk, and mined roads there without notifying civilians of this or warning them of mines. Ukrainian forces were deployed there and checkpoints were set up around them.
