The opening of the second Suleiman Al-Issa Poetry Forum included patriotic, social and emotional poems with the participation of a group of writers and poets from the Syrian governorates, which was organized by the Aleppo Culture Directorate in cooperation with the Friends of the Arabic Language Association on the stage of the Arab Cultural Center in Aziziyah.

The forum is considered a loyalty card from the people of Aleppo to the late poet Suleiman Al-Issa as an important poetic poem that enriched the Arabic library with dozens of poetry collections for children and adults.

In a statement to SANA's reporter, Jaber Al-Sajour, Director of Culture in Aleppo, explained the importance of the forum as a cultural event to learn about the poetic experience of writers and poets from the provinces, who came to participate in their various literary productions, including social, patriotic and spiritual.

Festival director and director of the Arabic Language Friends Association, Jamal Traboulsi, spoke about the forum’s goal in expressing the state of loyalty towards the poet Al-Issa, who represents Arabism migrating from Alexandretta to the Syrian interior through his works that preserved the Syrian identity, starting with his teaching Arabic for twenty years in secondary schools. Aleppo, in addition to the most beautiful meanings and chants that he presented to generations, which are still engraved in the minds.

From Hama Governorate, a member of the Arab Writers Union, poet Abbas Hairouqah, participated in a group of poems, believing in the importance of promoting the art of poetry as an important aesthetic art, following the footsteps of the late poet Al-Issa as an intellectual body that worked to promote Arab culture through texts and writings of affiliations, as well as what he wrote for children.

Among the poets who were contemporary with the late poet Al-Issa, a member of the Arab Writers Union, Muhammad Hassan Al-Ali from Homs Governorate, participated in 3 poems that narrate his memories with the national stature that produced the most beautiful poems, indicating that his poems are distinguished by their delicacy and sweetness and were able to attract children to interact with them, including beautiful national and human images that bring together Love of nature, love of homeland and Palestine.

Poets Abdel Hamid Melhem, Abdel-Gawad Al-Saleh, Farhoud Al-Ahmad and Mahmoud Ali Al-Saeed participated in the first day of the three-day forum.
