Opinion soft right? There is no such thing - this is a rhetorical trick of the left Israel today

2022-08-16T19:06:37.535Z

After years in which they called the right "extreme" and "fascist", the left changed tactics and began to glorify parts of the right in order to illuminate, without saying it - the other part in a negative light • So with the "state" right and so with the "soft" right

A new concept entered the last election system and is on the lips of political reporters and commentators: soft right.

It joins countless nicknames that have been created for the right over the years: extreme right, Bibiist right, state right, the right that is right to the right, and more.

They devoted themselves to the new concept to such an extent that it was even taken into account in the counting of mandates.

"There are two or three soft right seats that are looking for a home," or "If Netanyahu had any hope that the Likud list after the primaries would bring 'soft right' voters, his hope was dashed when the results of the list were published."

Which soft right is this?

The answer is that no one knows.

There is no such animal as a "soft right", just as there is no "soft left".

If there was a "soft left", Benny Gantz's party (before he politically saved Sa'ar, Elkin and Matan Kahane from the abyss of femininity) would be defined as such according to the commentators.

Because despite being a left-wing party, thanks to Michael Bitton it is the most right-wing on the continuum of left-wing parties.

They avoid calling her that because of political interest.

There is an interest in keeping its image as a "center" party, out of a desire to attract non-existent "soft right" people to it.

At least ideologically.

Because ideologically, former right-wing voters or Gideon Sa'ar's voters from his time in Likud cannot be considered "soft right".

On the right, they have always claimed that they are more right-wing than Netanyahu, that he is harming the settlement;

Gideon Sa'ar never stops being proud of his days as Minister of Education and the tours he organized in Hebron.

According to the worldview of the left, the right-wingers who ideologically voted for these two entities - Gideon Sa'ar and Yamina - are not soft right in any way.

And if it's not about values and a worldview, let's tell the truth - "soft right" is a rhetorical manipulation of the left, which seeks to split the right and wants to make right-wing people feel that if they vote for Netanyahu's bloc, then they are a corrupt, fascist and extreme right.

And this is exactly the point: after years of calling the right "extreme" and "fascist", the left changed tactics and began glorifying parts of the right in order to illuminate, without saying it, the other part in a negative light.

So with the "state" right and so with the "soft" right.

This is a rhetorical trick that those who use it are left-wingers or their representatives.

When Gideon Sa'ar speaks to the people of the soft right, he does so from his current position as a leftist who allows the justice system and law enforcement to run amok;

When Ayelet Shaked says that she calls the people of the soft right, it is clear to her that she is addressing people who have no problem with her sitting with Mansor Abbas even under Lapid.

Even if she is right-handed.

If someone who was right-wing in the past now calls the "soft right" - he is no longer right-wing, otherwise he would simply call right-wing people.

When someone says "I am a soft right-winger and I have no one to vote for" - either he is not ideologically right-wing or the left managed to deceive him.

Either way, it's no longer right.
