Because a Poinger had collected child porn for years and even shared it publicly, the man now had to answer to the Ebersberg district court.

Poing - The 59-year-old fire protection officer was exposed when he publicly shared a video on Facebook last year that, according to the indictment, shows a girl under the age of 14 engaged in sexual acts.

Investigators find 79 criminally relevant images and videos

During the house search that followed, the investigators found a total of 79 criminally questionable pictures and videos on all of Poinger's laptops, tablets, PCs, hard drives and USB sticks, some of which showed girls as young as ten engaging in sexual acts.

According to the defendant, the publication was “not intentional”, he only accidentally shared it.

The husband apologized several times in the courtroom, saying he didn't know how it all happened either.

Since the investigation, he has “no longer had any connection to such content”.

The defendant sees no reason for therapy

Judge Vera Hörauf's question as to whether he had any inclination to child pornography, the Poinger vehemently denied.

Accordingly, he sees no need to work through the incident, for example through therapy.

The court found this difficult to believe, as some of the confiscated data was several years old.

"You don't look at them for nothing," Hörauf asked.

The fire safety chief stuck to his statement that he had since finished with the problem.

Judge Hörauf finally sentenced Poinger to six months in prison, as demanded by the public prosecutor.

Under the condition that the convicted person seek therapy and not end it of his own accord, she suspended the sentence for three years on probation.

She thinks this form of punishment makes more sense than a fine, even though Poinger, who had no previous convictions, had confessed, apologized and agreed to the confiscation of all the items.

According to the magistrate, the probation represents a “sword of Damocles hovering over him”.
