Ministry spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov said in a media briefing today that more than 20 extremist fighters were eliminated and 30 others were wounded during this targeting, explaining that as a result of the concentrated shelling on the positions of the 72nd Ukrainian Mechanized Infantry Brigade in the Artyumovsk region of the Donetsk People's Republic, more than 50 were also liquidated. Konashenkov added that Russian soldiers, after the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from the Artyomovsk region, where the 72nd Armored Brigade units were located, discovered 50 French-made anti-tank mines, in clear violation of the second text of the Geneva Convention on the prohibition or restriction of the use of mines, booby-traps and others.
Konashenkov indicated that the Air Force continued to bombard Ukrainian military installations, as 7 command posts were targeted, including the 14th mechanized brigade in the Soledar region of the Donetsk People's Republic. Fuel in the Andrievka Kharkov region, in addition to targeting two Grad missile systems in the Vladimirovka regions of the Donetsk Republic and Verknopoli in the Kharkov region.
Konashenkov indicated that the Russian air defense systems destroyed two unmanned aircraft of the Ukrainian army in the Tobolivka region of the Donetsk Republic and Charevny in the Kherson region, and three missiles heading towards Novognatovka in the Donetsk People's Republic and Kamenka and Doroshnikov in the Kharkov region were also shot down.
Konashenkov stressed that since the beginning of the special military operation, 267 aircraft, 148 helicopters, 1,743 drones, 365 anti-aircraft missile systems, 4,328 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 799 combat vehicles of missile launch systems, 3,307 field artillery positions and mortars, as well as 4,902 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
