If everything goes well, a new youth club will open in Poing this year - at the Volksfestplatz.

Old construction containers are converted.

What is still missing are committed young people.

Poing - In Poing there will be another covered and heated meeting place in addition to the youth center: the old construction management container of the working group of developers and investors in Bergfeld (ARGE) will be moved from Bergfeldstraße to the fairground in the next few weeks.

There, on the north-east side, the container, which consists of several modules, will function as a youth center.

There is heating and a toilet in the complex.

The meeting is to be managed by the young people themselves - that is the project of the municipality.

If everything goes according to plan, the new meeting place could open at the end of the year.

Until then, however, there are still some discussions and plans to be made, say Mayor Thomas Stark and City Hall Managing Director Muriel Brodbeck: "A timely opening depends on the commitment of interested young people." Poing's youth should be well involved from the start, young people can and may contribute to the conceptual design, equipment and design of the container.

Here, Mayor Stark invites all young people to get in touch - preferably via the free mobile app PLACEm or via Instagram.

Enter the title "Jugend in Poing" in the local hands-on app.

Young people can already get rid of their ideas here.

Another appeal will be launched at the beginning of the school year via secondary schools.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.)

Another dependency on when the container can be opened is the sewage and water connections at the festival site, Brodbeck and Stark inform.

Both hope that the municipal water supply and disposal company can produce this in a timely manner.

The municipality of Poing launched the free hands-on app PLACEm a year ago as a digital meeting place for young people.

This should give the approximately 2000 young people in the village the opportunity to have a say, to have a say and to find out about dates and events.

Also possible: Young people can use the app (according to the administration anonymously and in compliance with data protection) to draw the community’s attention to grievances.

For example, if something is broken on the skate park.

In several places in Poing there are information boards with a QR code, which you can use to download the PLACEm hands-on app for free - click on the "Youth in Poing" group there.
