The mountain rifle company celebrated its 50th re-establishment festival with the consecration of the flag.
Bichl – The mountain rifle system has a long history: the companies are often several centuries old, often with interruptions and changes in their career.
The mountain rifle company Bichl celebrated its 50th re-establishment festival at the weekend and put a new flag into service in connection with this anniversary.
There will be a festive serenade at the village square to start with
The start on Saturday evening was a celebratory serenade, to which the Bichler company with music band and marching band as well as the delegations of the federal government and the other five companies of the Loisachgau as well as the flag delegations of the local associations marched on the village square.
After the musical performances performed by brass bands and marching bands, the marchers walked to the war memorial, where a wreath was laid for the fallen and deceased comrades, accompanied by three cannon shots.

At the subsequent festive evening in the Gasthof zum Bayerischen Löwen, company director Rudi Kramer gave an outline of their history, while governor Martin Haberfellner, district governor Stephan Schmid and Bichl's mayor Benedikt Pössenbacher brought their birthday wishes.

In 1972, 79 men reestablished the company
"Today we are celebrating the courage of the men who revived and continued the interrupted history of the Bichler company in 1972," says Haberfellner.
At the same time, one shouldn't forget the women who at the time "released" their husbands for the time-consuming organizational necessities.
79 men completed the re-establishment, a year later more than 100 had already joined the ranks.
Building up and equipping a company within such a short period of time was certainly not an easy undertaking, Gauhauptmann Schmid summed it up.
It is now important to attract young people "to preserve customs and our way of life".
"Camaraderie kept us together, moving out strengthened our community"
The latter, like the history of the Antlass rifle companies, was religiously oriented, Haberfellner explained.
Today many people would distance themselves from the faith and opt out of the church's annual cycle.
But there are also reasons to stick to it, “above all the protection of our homeland and culture”.
A prerequisite for the authentic external image of a company is a consensual inner life: "Comradeship has held us together, the deployment has strengthened our community," as Bichler Captain Markus Geißler put it.
Mayor Pössenbacher emphasized that the rifle company not only represents the Loisachtal community abroad and "beyond the state borders", but also actively gets involved locally.
Father Heiner Heim: "Peace doesn't just fall into our laps - we have to fight for it"
At the festive service on Sunday, pastor Father Heiner Heim called it a "timeless task" to stand up for peace, security and protection of the homeland.
"Peace doesn't just fall into our laps - you have to fight for it and work for it, in politics, in companies and organizations, in families." The Bichler St. George's Church can be seen, he also blessed the ribbon that flag mother Cäcilie Peschl donated and the memorial ribbon that Pössenbacher attached on behalf of the community.
According to Heim, the banner should be a sign of peace and helpfulness.
Just as the day before the restored old flag symbolically concluded the 50-year career of the Bichler company in the form of a dignified "flag parade", a new phase began on Sunday after the fair and at the end of the official ceremony with the parade of the new flag.
