When it comes to Donald Trump, Stephen King doesn't mince words.
In an interview with The
Sunday Times
on Saturday August 13, the writer shared his thoughts on the former US president.
The author of
The Shining
, told Richard Osman, presenter of
BBC One game show
Pointless, that he thinks Donald Trump
“was a horrible president and he is a horrible person.”
Adding that he feels
"he's a sociopath who tried to overthrow American democracy not out of any political wish on his part, but because he couldn't admit he lost."

According to the writer,
"there is a political right wing in the United States which has a very strong echo in certain media."
Without going so far as to call them fascists, Stephen King ranks them on the side of the hard right.
He also wonders about the climate-skeptical potential of this fringe of American politics, which he describes as
“a real problem.”
With 64 novels to his credit, Stephen King is considered one of the world's most prolific authors.
In fifty years of career, the author has sold more than 350 million copies of his books.

, the 65th, is due out in September.
“I wanted to write a good hard-hitting read.

,” the writer said of his new book.
