According to this, a driver (72) on Hamburger Straße caught a pedestrian trying to cross the street.
The 18-year-old suffered serious injuries in the accident.
The traffic police are now looking for witnesses.
The woman was traveling south on Hamburger Strasse around 4:10 p.m. in her Mitsubishi. "In the area of Koblenzer Strasse, the 18-year-old suddenly stepped onto the road to cross it," said the officials.
The driver was unable to brake in time and hit the young man head-on.
The 18-year-old was seriously injured and was immediately taken to a hospital.
