The number of victims of the explosion and fire that took place in the Surmalo market in the capital Yerevan has risen to 15, the Ministry of Emergencies of Armenia reported today.
The Russia Today website quoted the ministry as saying in a statement: "During the rescue work, emergency personnel found the bodies of 15 people, including a child... while the identities of nine victims have not been identified so far."
The statement indicated that 18 other people, including an Iranian citizen and a Russian woman, are still missing, adding that more than 60 people were injured in the accident, 12 of whom are still receiving treatment in hospital.
The latest toll indicated that the number of victims of the explosion and fire in Yerevan reached six.
