Lt. Col. Dan Sharoni, who was accused of documenting female and male soldiers in intimate situations, submitted a request to be released from detention in the military prison to house arrest, according to him, this is due to the delay in the proceedings regarding the plea deal he signed with him.

The victims in the case expressed outrage at the request, claiming that Lt. Col. Sharoni manages to escape his punishment.

Lt. Col. Sharoni submitted the request to the military court, and asked for a hearing on the matter this week.

The military court determined that the defense would submit a written request to hold a hearing on the matter, and that the prosecution would be allowed to respond to the request.

His request comes after a few days ago the Committee for the Transfer of Prisoners determined that he will be transferred from the military prison and will continue his detention in addition to his sentence in a civilian prison.

However, the Supreme Court decided that until another decision is made, the transfer to a civilian prison facility will be delayed.

At the end of last month, the military attorney's office announced that it had reached a plea agreement with Lt. Col. Dan Sharoni.

According to the settlement, he admitted about 70 serious crimes of indecent acts, violation of privacy, computer intrusion and other crimes.

In addition, it was agreed that his military service will be terminated immediately, he will be demoted to the rank of private and will pay financial compensation of NIS 250,000 to the victims.

Some of Lt. Col. Sharoni's victims exerted public pressure regarding the plea deal, and expressed concerns to the military attorney's office about his release.

The attorney's office announced that it will hold an internal hearing in which it will formulate its position regarding the release request, after receiving today from the probation service its recommendations regarding Sharoni, which will also be a weight in its position.

"If he is released from prison, it means that we, the 49 victims, will not leave the house and enter our own prison," the victims said angrily.

"While we can't sleep at night, face nightmares and fears, can't trust people and wherever we are we are constantly afraid that we are being photographed - Sharoni is making arrangements convenient for himself: at first he prevents his transfer to a civil prison because he knows what awaits him there, and now he asks to be released as if he deserves Lo Peres", we noted.

"We are hurting and broken, but we will not be silent and we will not give up, we are determined to fight until the man who destroyed our lives receives the punishment he deserves here and now and only in prison. This is why we started the fight," they added.

Trying to manipulate the system for his needs"
