Wiesn throughout the city - Wirtshaus-Wiesn and Oktoberfest this year for the first time in parallel

The Wirtshaus-Wiesn will also take place in 2022 - this year for the first time parallel to the Oktoberfest.

At a press conference, those responsible explained how this should work.

When the Oktoberfest starts on September 17th, the big party will also start in the city center this year: For the first time after two years of the pandemic, the Wirtshaus-Wiesn will run parallel to the Oktoberfest.

This year the motto is: Wiesn throughout the city.

"The Wiesn is not a place or an event, but above all a deep attitude to life that we bring to our city in many places with our Wirtshaus-Wiesn," said Gregor Lemke at a press conference on Tuesday.

The spokesman for the Munich city center restaurants presented the plan for this autumn together with the Wiesnwirte speakers Peter Inselkammer and Christian Schottenhamel.

Around 50 pubs are officially part of the third Wirtshaus-Wiesn – from inns and gourmet restaurants to cafés and pubs.

They can be recognized by their special decoration – fresh hops should hang everywhere – as well as posters and specially designed gingerbread hearts.

In some places, live bands also provide the atmosphere in the taverns.

There is also a specially designed mug.

This year for the first time in the larger 0.5 liter version.

"We're slowly getting closer," said Lemke with a smile.

You can buy the Wirtshaus-Wiesn-Krug for about 20 euros in some pubs.

Of course, original Wiesn beer will be served in the mugs at the Wirtshaus-Wiesn.

The restaurants set the prices themselves. Lemke assures: "There will be no increases." The usual menus will then be supplemented with one or two Oktoberfest delicacies.

The organizers are not worried that Oktoberfest visitors will prefer to stay in the city center or that the taverns will remain empty during the Oktoberfest.

"The demand is there," said Peter Inselkammer.

The reservation requests for the festival tents are higher than in 2019. If you don't get a place, you can simply celebrate in the city.

Because somehow there is a bit of Oktoberfest everywhere this year.
