Mali is now alone with its choices.

In an "agenda", the Chief of the Defense Staff, General Burkhard paid tribute to the French soldiers who fought
"relentlessly
" and
"in often trying conditions
" against these terrorist groups which controlled, in 2013, “
half of Malian territory
and which threatened to overthrow his state.
The words hollowly underline the ingratitude of Bamako and of the ruling junta which, for the past year, has preferred an alliance with Russia to protect its power.
