The iron gate at the parking exit of the Yau Ma Tei Maternal and Child Health Centre collapsed yesterday evening (15th), hitting a 43-year-old female security guard surnamed Wei, causing her serious injuries to the back of her head and other places.
Today (16th) staff from the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department and the Labour Department went to the Maternal and Child Health Centre for investigation, but did not respond to questions from reporters present.
At the scene, staff of the Labour Department went to the security room to investigate and search documents, and another staff measured the size of the iron gate. The EMSD staff were also taking pictures of the iron gate for records.

The incident happened at around 6 pm yesterday (15th) when a giant iron gate collapsed in the parking lot of the Yau Ma Tei Maternal and Child Health Centre, hitting a female security guard surnamed Wei. She was seriously injured in many places including the back of her head. Several security guards nearby witnessed the incident. In case of emergency, call the police immediately for help, and work together to lift the iron gate to rescue the injured female security guard.
The injured were sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for surgery for 6 hours, which was extended to 0:13 a.m. today (16th) and eventually died.
The police classified the case as an "industrial accident" and officers from the Yau Ma Tei Division are investigating the incident.
