The "Yesh Atid" party today (Tuesday) petitioned the Central Election Committee against the Likud, demanding to delete a Likud propaganda video that imitated another Yesh Atid video, in which it detailed the achievements of the outgoing government.
Bish Atid claims that this is a "deliberately false and misleading propaganda video" and a violation of copyright.

Yesh Atid uploaded a propaganda video on social media yesterday detailing the party's achievements in the coalition in the past year.
"Only one year in power, and look what we accomplished, ready? Hold on tight" is the opening sentence of the video, after which the achievements were detailed.
A few hours later, the Likud's Twitter responded with their own video, which opened with the same opening sentence as the original video, but was followed by excerpts from media reports on the cost of living and archive clips of Prime Minister Yair Lapid and Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman commenting on the issue.
Beish Atid forwarded the two videos to the Central Election Commission for review and claim that the Likud video is a misleading video, which uses the same sound and visuals of the original video, including the Yesh Atid logo, opens exactly as the original video opened, and constitutes copyright infringement as well as prohibited propaganda.

Bish Atid demand that the Central Election Committee instruct Likud to remove the video from all social networks.
In the petition, submitted by attorney Oded Gazit, it is written that "a comparison of the videos shows that the misleading video was intended, formally, to be an advertisement on behalf of the petitioner and therefore it may mislead the reasonable voter, and unfairly interfere with the petitioner's election campaign."
More It is written that "Beyond trying to create deception through formal means, the respondent violates - blatantly, without shame - the petitioner's copyrights.
And it should be emphasized that this is not the borrowing of a motif, an image, a second particle (as was done in the respondent's propaganda in the past in cases where the petitioner did not file a petition) - but a complete copy, of a unique expression, which includes several elements intertwined in a way that is identified with the petitioner, and exists in a work that the petitioner has the Full copyright to it." The
Likud did not provide a response.
