Two weeks after the "Dawn" operation, a tour of the Gaza Strip shows that nothing has really changed in the area politically.

Although the general feeling is that Israel won, and the residents are also full of praise for the government's performance, but when it comes to the elections - what will be will be.

While the cities are almost exclusively devoted to Netanyahu (even though the far right is expected to strengthen in them as well), the kibbutzim are divided between Lapid and Gantz, Havoda and Meretz.

A broad coalition here sounds like utopia: those who support Netanyahu refuse to hear about an option other than him;

Those who oppose him, do not see an option with him.

"There is satisfaction with the government."

Alon Davidi,

Alon Davidi, the mayor of Sderot, does not regret that he demonstratively abandoned a meeting of the heads of the settlements in Otef with the Chief of Staff on the eve of the operation. "I am here to push.

When I knock on the table it has an effect," he says.

He actually compliments the government, even though it is not his cup of tea.

"I don't remember a government that made decisions so quickly regarding us. Yair Lapid was here, and immediately gave instructions for implementation. Some of the amounts have already been transferred."

And yet, he is convinced that the residents will vote exactly as they did in the past.

"People are very fixed. The majority of the population voted right in the past, and will vote right in the future as well. There is satisfaction with the government, but it won't change anything."

Gadi Yarkoni, head of the Eshkol Regional Council, agrees with this analysis.

Although he comes from the other side of the political map and for his opinion the operation was no less than excellent, but this satisfaction will not translate in his opinion at the ballot box.

"Nothing will change, and it's a shame, because this government has done more for the envelope."

Were we wrong?

We will fix it!
