The policemen usually find the main suspect every time they solve a case, but they got a surprise when they discovered that the alleged culprit of the crime was a monkey.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office in California is convinced that it was a small capuchin monkey that called the 911 emergency number from a zoo last Saturday night.

The call was abruptly cut off and the telephone operators tried to reconnect with the "person" who had called and send text messages, but they did not get any response, so they decided to send a police patrol to investigate what was happening, according to the authorities in a post on his Facebook social network account.

The address to which the phone number that made the emergency call was associated turned out to be the Zoo to You, near Paso Robles, but sheriff's deputies verified that no one there had made it.

"We've been told that capuchin monkeys are very curious and will grab anything and start pushing buttons," the sheriff's office explained.

"As you can see from these photos, Route is a little embarrassed about the whole thing. But you can't blame her, because the monkey tries to reproduce everything she sees," he said in the Facebook post.
