Far from having succeeded in everything on the economic front, in particular on the side of public finances, Emmanuel Macron can at least boast of tangible results on employment.

Falling to 7.4%, the unemployment rate in France certainly remains higher than the European average, but we had not seen it so low for nearly forty years.

This improvement, it will be said, owes a lot to the billions spent during the health crisis and to those devoted to hiring aid.

To be fair, it is also the reward for difficult labor market reforms, vocational training and unemployment insurance.

All of them have contributed to removing the preventions of companies to recruit and to bring the unemployed back to work.

Among all the devices, the boost given to learning is rightly unanimously welcomed.

Formerly the poor relation of the path to integration into the world of work, it has finally gotten rid of its bad reputation as a siding.
