Childcare in Marzling is becoming more expensive - sometimes by over 50 percent

Marzlingen parents will have to dig deeper into their pockets for childcare in the future: the fees will be increased for the new kindergarten year.

- Since the first half of 2021, the unwelcome topic of "increasing the day-care center fees" has been on the agenda of the Marzling municipal councils.
Now it is implemented.
Depending on booking times and facilities, parents will have to pay up to 50 percent more.
While the parents' council of the after-school care center had "stomach ache" because of this, the parents' council of the kindergarten and crèche was "not enthusiastic", but reacted with understanding.
While a booking of four to five hours in the crèche currently costs 202 euros, parents will have to pay 232 euros a month for it in future – 25 percent more.
With a booking of eight to nine hours, the contribution will increase by 28 percent from 356 euros to 417 per month.
Game and drink money will also be increased
The prices for the kindergarten are also going up: While five to six hours can still be booked for 112 euros, parents will soon have to shell out 21 percent more, namely 124 euros.
In the highest booking category, the price increases by 50 percent: from 151 euros to 208 euros per month.
In the after-school care center, 101 euros are currently due for booking three to four hours.
After the fee increase, the contribution increases by 35 percent to 125 euros per month.
For the highest booking category, the costs increase to 52 percent, from 112 euros to 156 euros per month.

The game and drink money will also be increased from six to eight euros, simply because groceries would simply become more expensive.
However, the parents' councils were satisfied with this and even suggested rounding up to ten euros, since this money would be passed on to the children on a one-to-one basis.
On the other hand, the parents' council of the after-school care center criticized the charging of a new administration fee of 20 euros when the child is first admitted to the day-care center.
Marzling pays almost one million euros for childcare
The overall figures and the tight budget show why Marzling has to increase the fees at all: Most of the costs of the daycare center are borne by the municipality: almost 60 percent in 2021 – i.e. around 1.3 million euros.
As a result of the increase, Marzling will still have to bear around 47 percent of the total costs, while the parents will have to bear 18 percent.
The Free State takes on the rest of around 35 percent.
"Very few register that we continue to pay almost one million euros," said Mayor Martin Ernst.
What he also noted: "The 100 euro contribution relief from the Free State for the parents remains." A guest who spoke at the municipal council meeting then made the following calculation: "If you calculate all of this, one hour of childcare costs in Marzling 54 cents.”
Winfried Seidl (CSU/FW) wanted to know whether the increase in fees already included the costs for the new children's house extension.
According to the head of the town hall, these costs are not yet included because something cannot be added for which there are no exact figures.
What was changed with the new fee schedule was the increase in the contribution months from eleven to twelve months, since the daycare center used to be closed for four weeks, but this is no longer the case.
The new version of the day-care fee statute was finally launched unanimously.
It applies from September 1st.
