Driver suddenly unconscious: courageous rescuer reacts immediately

In Cologne, a woman at the wheel of her Toyota lost consciousness on Tuesday.
A courageous man intervened immediately - and became a hero.
Cologne – Heroic act in Cologne: A 41-year-old man allegedly saved the life of a woman on Tuesday and prevented a serious accident in Cologne-Eil.
In the car in front of him, a 72-year-old woman from Cologne had lost consciousness at the wheel.
The man parked his car in front of it and braked the driverless Toyota to a stop.
He then provided first aid with another witness until paramedics arrived who were able to revive the woman.
The police speaks of a "courageous intervention", reports 24RHEIN.

The 72-year-old woman drove her Toyota on Tuesday afternoon (August 16) over the Heumar mouse trail.
According to current knowledge, there was then an internal emergency in which the woman at the wheel lost consciousness.
"Your vehicle drove on in a serpentine line and rolled several times to the right and left over the green strip and cycle path," said the Cologne police.
At that time, a 41-year-old man was driving directly behind the woman in the direction of Cologne/Bonn Airport.
When he noticed something was wrong in the car in front of him, he reacted immediately.
He parked his car directly in front of the woman's Toyota and slowly braked it bumper-to-bumper to a standstill.

"Together with another witness, he got the unconscious woman out of the car and gave first aid," the police continued.
Rescue workers from the fire brigade were then able to revive the 72-year-old.
The woman is currently being treated in intensive care.
According to the doctors, her condition is stable.
