A serial burglary occurred at the East Kowloon Police Headquarters on the 3rd of last month. When a police officer returned to the men's changing room on the 11th floor, he was shocked to find that the locker door was open and about $1,650 was stolen.
Police found a total of 17 lockers opened, 10 of which showed signs of prying.
More than a month after the incident, it was reported that after investigation, the police arrested a PTU officer today (17th) and are investigating the stolen funds.
It is understood that the arrested police officers are stationed in the Kowloon East Regional Tactical Unit and can use the locker rooms on the relevant floors.
The scene of the burglary was the male staff locker room on the 11th floor of the East Kowloon Regional Headquarters. The incident happened at about 2 pm on the 3rd of last month.
