The numerous visitors to the 8th Jagafest, to which the Erding District Hunting Association had invited, experienced impressive flying skills from falcons, buzzards and golden eagles.
Erding - The highlight of the well-attended event on the grounds of the farmhouse museum in Erding was an impressive bird of prey show.
Wolfgang Schreyer and his assistant Robert Höfling from Unterschleißheim showed how fast birds of prey are: "Peregrine falcons have already measured 396 kilometers per hour during a dive." Schreyer also informed about the meaning of falconry and why this cultural asset is preserved in Germany by around 3000 falconers.
The spectators loved it.
The hunting horn players of the KJV under the direction of Basti Fendt (Moosinning) framed the event with hunting signals and a number of pieces from hunting music.
The young musicians from the Saubach Blosn, who had their first public appearance, were also well received.
The environmental mobile of the KJV was very informative for the small and large guests.
There, not only children could improve their knowledge of local animal species with the help of numerous preparations.
And there was no shortage of culinary delights either.
There were grilled game specialties from the Erdinger Land and a grilled sow on a spit.
