Faster connection: Fiber optic expansion in Pliening, Gelting and Landsham

Deutsche Telekom is planning to expand the fiber optic network.

Around 2,400 households in Pliening, Gelting and Landsham will be able to be connected to Deutsche Telekom's fiber optic network.

The company announces this.

Pliening – Deutsche Telekom will lay fiber optics “into the houses” in Pliening and in the districts of Gelting and Landsham.

The telecommunications company announced this in a press release on Wednesday, August 17th.

However, this will not happen overnight, but next year.

"Telekom will start in the first quarter of 2023 with project-specific planning, including securing the location and routes, and will begin expanding the infrastructure in the third quarter," said Bernhard Multerer, Regional Manager at Telekom.

All owners in the core town of Pliening as well as in Gelting and Landsham could apply for the free fiber optic house connection from the middle of the second quarter of 2023.

Pliening: About 2400 households can be connected

The topic of faster and better internet in the municipality of Pliening has long been a subject of discussion in the municipal council.

According to Telekom's press release, Mayor Roland Frick is correspondingly pleased with the company's investment: "Glass fiber is the technology that can transport the data volumes that will be required in the future.

A fiber optic connection in your own apartment or house is just as important as a connection to electricity, water or gas.”

As reported by Telekom, around 2,400 households in Pliening, Gelting and Landsham could be connected to the fiber optic network.

The connection makes a data speed of up to one gigabit per second possible.
