Efficient, practical, dense… but a bit filthy!
Ask users - regular or not - about the quality of public transport in the Ile-de-France, and poor cleanliness is likely to be mentioned at the top of the remarks.
Despite the launch, with millions of euros, of major cleaning operations, both on the Transilien and at the RATP, despite a substantial reinforcement (up to 100 million euros per year) of the variable bonus-malus that Ile-de-France Mobilités (the transport organizing authority) awards operators according to their result in terms of “passenger satisfaction”, the networks in the Ile-de-France cannot manage to get rid of their bad image.
