Retirement provision is an important topic and also concerns celebrities like Harald Schmidt.

The German entertainer talks about his pension.

Cologne – Harald Schmidt will be 65 years old in a few days, on August 18th.

His day of honor apparently makes the entertainer and cabaret artist think about his financial future.

He now revealed to the German Press Agency how high his pension is.

Schmidt has worked as a freelancer for most of his life.

Growing up in Nürtingen in Baden-Württemberg, he studied acting in Stuttgart from 1978 to 1981, then worked in this profession for theater and television and later switched to moderation.

Despite these activities of all kinds, Harald Schmidt also “paid in full for 15 years”, which at least entitles him to his “mini-pension” of 272 euros.

Harald Schmidt insists on his pension

Schmidt worked as a church organist in the Catholic community in his hometown, before completing his community service in a Catholic parish office.

He then laid the foundation for his career, which culminated in 1995.

At that time, the 64-year-old was the late-night presenter of the "Harald Schmidt Show" on

Sat.1

.

Later he could no longer build on these successful times.

Today, the well-known TV face can look back on his eventful years of life, which was also the time when he paid for his pension.

Schmidt says about the 272 euros to which he is entitled: "I'll collect that too, I've paid in, I'm entitled to it."

Harald Schmidt does not see his pension as charity

If some people wonder why such a well-known and successful person as Harald Schmidt insists on this "mini-pension", the entertainer himself explains: "It's not alms, it's a deal I made with the state have.

Bring it on!"

In the case of average Joes, the situation sometimes looks much more serious.

In view of the high prices, people who have paid into the pension fund their entire life may well find themselves in financial difficulties at the moment.

So do two pensioners from Munich, who sometimes even have to do without tomatoes when shopping.
