Ilana Sporta, who is accused of sending live bullets to Naftali Bennett's family members when he served as prime minister, has been released to house arrest.
Sporta, 65 years old from Ashkelon, was indicted in May of this year at the Peace Court in Petach Tikva, in which she is accused of extortion by threats and possession of ammunition. After the indictment was filed, she was detained until the end of the proceedings against her. Her lawyer, Yaron Forer, requested that she be released from custody House, and now the court granted the request.
Sporta will be under house arrest and additional restrictions will apply to her, such as a ban on surfing the internet and a ban on leaving the country.
Sporta is a political activist, often posting on social media and participating in political demonstrations and protests.
According to the indictment, she frequently posted on social media posts condemning Bennett, including curses, blatant defamations, harsh accusations and death wishes.
The indictment reads: "On this background, at a date that is not precisely known, the accused decided to send threats to the Prime Minister that she would kill him, his wife Gilat, and his 17-year-old son Yoni, if he did not resign from his position. Accordingly, from April 3 until On April 11, from time to time, the accused prepared two blackmail letters with threats."

According to the indictment, Sporta sent two envelopes: the first - an envelope addressed in her own handwriting to Gilat at the college in Ra'anana, where she works, and inside it was a chase with a 5.56 mm live bullet (rifle bullet), and a sheet of paper with the following printed text: "This is the bullet that will hit the soft stomach Yours, Naftali Bennett, and will directly hurt Yoni Bennett if you don't resign."
The second envelope - an envelope addressed in her own handwriting to Yoni, at the home of the Prime Minister and his family in Ra'anana, and inside it is a chaser with a 5.56 mm live bullet (rifle bullet), and a sheet of paper with the following printed text: "This is the bullet that will hit and detect your identity, the rogue, or you, Naftali Bennett.
Resign - advice to you."
