With the aim of providing a sustainable source of income for the wounded and their families, the Wounded Home Project in Hama Governorate, in cooperation with the Small Enterprises Development Authority, set up a training course to develop the skills of the wounded in the food industries and help them promote their economic projects.

The training axes focused on the 30-day course on food processing, methods of preservation and freezing of plant and animal products, and the manufacture of pickles and jams, and ended with a practical exam for the trainees.

The Wounded Al-Watan project explained through a post on its Facebook page that the training targeted 14 wounded people from all disability segments, in addition to their families who own agricultural projects or livestock, noting that the participants in the course were granted a commercial registration exempt from fees for 5 years and a license for small projects for a year.

The project pointed out that the graduates will have priority to participate in the exhibitions it holds and the exhibitions of the Small Enterprises Development Authority, in addition to participating in the showrooms of rural products in the Syrian trade centers established in cooperation with the Syrian Trust for Development.

It is noteworthy that the training course comes in the context of the expansion of the Wounded Home Project in providing its services to all segments of the wounded. Since its launch in 2014, it has adopted the principle of partnership between government institutions and non-governmental organizations in order to unify all efforts, resources and capabilities to support, care and empower the wounded.
