In the context of implementing the directives of President Bashar al-Assad after his recent visit to the city of Aleppo, Prime Minister Hussein Arnous inaugurated this evening a number of electricity transmission centers in the Al-Mashatieh neighborhood in old Aleppo, in preparation for putting 40 new transformation centers into service, after rehabilitating and equipping them.

 The transfer centers are distributed within the neighborhoods of Salah al-Din, al-Shaar, Bab al-Nayrab, Karam al-Qaterji, al-Zahraa, al-Kalasa, Ein al-Tal, Ard al-Hamra, and Sheikh Fares, in addition to the areas of al-Safira, Samaan and Deir Hafer.

The forty transfer centers are out of 150 transfer centers allocated to the Aleppo governorate, and they will be installed within the city and the countryside before the end of this year.

 In a statement to the media, Eng. Arnous stated that after President Bashar al-Assad’s recent visit to Aleppo, 40 electrical transmission centers were put into service today out of 150 conversion centers that were allocated to Aleppo, including 100 transformers for the city of Aleppo and 50 transformers for the countryside, and work continues daily to extend the electrical network to each neighborhood of Aleppo .

He added: We are with a new date to put the first group in the thermal station into service at the end of this year, and there are continuous efforts to equip the other three groups in the thermal station to restore electricity to what it was in Aleppo before the unjust war that was waged against Syria. Aleppo will return to the way it was, in terms of construction, markets, and electricity, better than it was before.

 In a statement to the Minister of Electricity, Engineer Ghassan Al-Zamil, he indicated that the technical workshops began to rehabilitate what was destroyed by terrorism in Aleppo and put the fifth group in the thermal station into service, pointing out that the Ministry of Electricity’s plan was to add 150 transformational centers to the governorate of Aleppo to put them in service until the end of this year, where 50 centers were set up Transformational service in the first phase, and today work is underway to put 40 transformational centers into service, at a financial cost of one billion Syrian pounds, to put the old neighborhoods of Aleppo into service, including Al-Mashatiah, Al-Kallaseh, Jabal Samaan, Al-Safira and Deir Hafer, and the plan continues for the next year to put the largest possible number of transformational centers in service.

He added that the rehabilitation of the first group at the thermal station is continuing to put it into service before the end of this year, with work continuing to rehabilitate the rest of the groups, as well as laying the 230 and 400 power lines and substations destroyed by terrorism, so that most areas of Aleppo are illuminated and provided with electricity.

 The inauguration was attended by Mansour Azzam, Minister of Presidency Affairs, Local Administration and Environment, Engineer Hussein Makhlouf, Finance Dr. Kinan Yaghi, Electricity Engineer Ghassan Al-Zamil, Aleppo Governor Hussein Diab, Party Branch Secretary Ahmed Mansour, a number of stakeholders in the electricity sector and a crowd of people.

 The Council of Ministers, in its session held on the nineteenth of last month, approved a matrix that tracks the implementation of a number of service and development projects in the governorate, where the percentage of work in rehabilitating the first group within the thermal station in Aleppo reached about 55%, while the implementation rate of the irrigation project of Khanasir town and the gatherings The surrounding population is 75%.

The projects also include the rehabilitation of 4,400 hectares in the southern plains of Aleppo and the project to irrigate the villages of Jeb Ghabsha Al-Sein to deliver water to 50 villages, of which 28 are in the first phase, and the implementation rate has reached 35%, in addition to contracting procedures for the rehabilitation of the remaining three groups in the Aleppo thermal power plant. And the project to rehabilitate the Tal Balat mill, complete the infrastructure of the Al-Bashaer market, tourism and heritage, and complete the rehabilitation works of the old lighthouse and other vital projects.
