Russian scientists have developed a new drug extracted from medicinal plants that treats type 2 diabetes.
“The extracted drug is characterized by high biological activity and is intended for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and can be used over a long period without causing addiction or side complications,” the Vesti Ro website quoted researchers at the All-Russian Research Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants as saying.
Marina Gukhayan, senior researcher in the Department of Experimental Technologies at the Institute, explained that plant medicines are promising in the treatment of endocrine diseases, as they have a wide range of biological and safe activities, noting that this new drug is characterized by the ability to mutually enhance the pharmacological properties of each of its components.
