Jérôme Boateng (33) will soon have to go back to court in Munich.

Because the ex-professional of FC Bayern is said to have hit and insulted his former partner with his fist, he has to pay 1.8 million euros.

But he had appealed against the verdict - with success.

Munich – Judge Kai Dingerdissen had negotiated until 8 p.m., only then was the verdict against Jérôme Boateng (33).

In the end there was a tough result: The ex-Bayern professional had to pay a total of 1.8 million euros because, according to the court, he had punched and insulted his former partner in the face.

This is how the trial before the Munich District Court ended in September 2021.

But now the criminal proceedings are being reopened.

Because Jérôme Boateng has successfully appealed - just like the Munich I public prosecutor and like Boateng's former partner, who appears as a joint plaintiff in the process.

You will see the former star kicker in court again in mid-October.

Because the process will soon be reopened at the Munich I district court.

Munich: Jérôme Boateng has to go back to court – he is defending himself against his fine

"According to current planning, the trial against Jerome Boateng is to take place on October 20/21," confirms court spokesman Florian Gliwitzky at the request of our editors.

The meeting will be primarily about money.

Because initially Boateng was sentenced by the district court to a penalty of 60 daily rates.

That means: The kicker has no criminal record.

But: In his case, the daily rate was set at 30,000 euros - the absolute upper limit.

This results in a total of 1.8 million euros.

Jérôme Boateng will definitely want to avert the punishment in the new proceedings before the Munich I Regional Court.

He had already denied the allegations.

But even if there were a conviction (as in the first trial), Boateng will not want to accept such a high sentence.

This consisted primarily of his salary: Judge Kai Dingerdissen estimated Boateng, including advertising revenue, at an annual salary of more than ten million euros.

As a consequence, the judge then also set the daily rate at the maximum possible amount.

Boateng now has to testify again on October 20 - and is fighting for his reputation.

The footballer is currently playing for Olympique Lyon in France.

However, he has not yet played in the current season.
