Under the supervision of Father Elias Zahlawi, the “Flashes of Creativity” project was launched this evening from the Church of Our Lady of Damascus, which documented five stories of different life experiences of Syrians from inside Syria and from the countries of expatriation.

These flashes of writers immersing themselves in the word for the first time bore the titles “Zion Al-Ghariba” by Imad Haddad, “The Heart of a Mother” by Ralda Awad Khanji, “A Girl Gives Her Mother” by Reem Homsi Obaid, “Abraq Min Al-Sham” by Bushra Bashour Arabji and “Ghamra Al-Jawy” Written by Naila Darwish.

In his speech, Father Zahlawi spoke about the idea of flashes of creativity, because he believes from the bottom of his heart that every person is a tremendous energy that transcends him and his society, which was reflected in every work he did, especially in the creation of the joy choir for collective singing.

He said: “I tried for decades to get some to write their autobiographies for nothing but fidelity to themselves and history. The inner divine flash that is hidden in the depths of every human being without exception, and they were the first to be surprised by the effect of the Word on them and upon them.

Father Zahlawi expressed his happiness to present to Arabic readers some of whose flashes have become accessible to Syrian and Arab readers, in the hope that they will be translated into the world's languages.

In the first flash, “Zayun al-Gharib,” whose writer Imad wanted it to be a testimony to Lynn, the girl he loved, who was a unique example of a disciplined presence in the choir of joy and cheerful giving, despite the excruciating pain she spent with her father when she was young and her mother who died of a terminal illness. Shaping Imad's awareness and building his personality again so that the young woman who was martyred in 2013 is an image of people whose mission in life is to save us and turn us into the best that can be achieved.

The second flash of a mother’s heart in which Mrs. Ralda spoke about her son Faris, whom God had endowed with remarkable beauty, unity of intelligence and gentle manners. Suddenly, at the age of nine, he was diagnosed with a cancer in the head, and the path of pain began for the child, mother and family to die at the age of eleven, so that his mother took it upon herself to tell every detail. It happened with her son, so she worked throughout his years of pain with her husband to prepare a knight and prepare herself for the moment of his transition to the life that God had prepared for the believers when it became clear to her and her husband that human medicine had become unable to cure him.

A child gives birth to her mother, the third flash that Ms. Reem, who lives in expatriate countries, spoke about. She tells the story of her daughter, Donna, who was suddenly injured in the leg, which threatened her whole life. Little by little, she and her daughter undergo a process of self-renewal that begins with their intimate relationship with God and ends with their most delicate relationship with man.

A fragrance from the Levant, the fourth flash of the expatriate Bushra, who wanted her to be a testimony to the true faith, pure love and loyalty to the Levant, and an opportunity to re-read her life and recover all the blessings that were given to her over the years.

The fifth flash in the midst of the atmosphere, by which Naila wanted the reader to live with her on a spiritual journey that she experienced in the village of Medjugorje, a remote village in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It is noteworthy that all the books of Flashes of Creativity were issued by the New Dilmun House, where the director of the house, Afraa Hadba, expressed her happiness in publishing these wonderful and useful Syrian human experiences, indicating that there will be many other flashes under the supervision of Father Zahlawi, calling on everyone to express themselves through writing.
