Health Minister Karl Lauterbach is accused of violating the corona isolation obligation.

A complaint has already been filed against the politician.

Berlin – The corona virus is still an issue in politics and everyday life.

Most recently, the health authorities in Germany reported 63,745 new corona infections to the Robert Koch Institute within one day.

Health Minister Karl Lauterbach was not spared by the virus either.

After his illness, allegations against the politician are now being made – there are even two complaints against him.

Karl Lauterbach: Minister of Health is said to have ended corona isolation too early

Federal Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach defends himself against the accusation that he ended his corona isolation too early.

Several politicians made this accusation after the Social Democrat said after his illness that he was not quite fit and appeared in the cabinet the day after.

Despite four vaccinations, Minister of Health Lauterbach was infected with the corona virus at the beginning of the month (August 4).

On Tuesday, August 9, 2022, he said the

ARD on the question of whether he was negative again: "I'm not quite fit yet.

I'm negative again, and the PCR test is also well over 30, so I'm no longer considered contagious." The next day, Lauterbach ended his isolation and appeared in the cabinet.

This corresponded to the rules of the RKI: "A negative PCR result or a positive test result with a Ct value >30 are permissible for resuming work".

In Berlin, however, the condition applies that the person concerned must be symptom-free for 48 hours beforehand - otherwise the sick person should stay at home for ten days.

Display against Karl Lauterbach – The accusation: Violation of the obligation to isolate

The former Berlin MP Marcel Luthe has now filed a complaint against the SPD politician.

He sees a violation of the isolation requirement.

After all, the minister was “not quite fit yet”.

Luthe, head of the GG union, told the

Berliner Zeitung

: This is about “equal treatment of citizens and the Minister of Health”.

His union represents "dozens of people accused of similar violations and who should be punished for it."

The Berlin AfD politician Eva-Marie Doerfler also filed a complaint against Lauterbach.

The politician said on Facebook: "I reported Mr. Lauterbach!

A man who bullies an entire country with confused, unfounded and unspeakable regulations, but who does not comply with them himself, is intolerable as a minister and his misconduct must have consequences.”

Lauterbach denies allegations: He was symptom-free for 48 hours

 The Ministry of Health clearly

denied the allegations when asked by the newspaper

Welt .

“The minister was symptom-free for 48 hours before he visited the cabinet on Wednesday.”

Lauterbach also explained to

Der Spiegel that he no longer had any corona symptoms – neither a sore throat nor a headache.

He just wasn't fit yet.

He had tested negative 48 hours before he ended the isolation – three times.

Health Minister Karl Lauterbach: "We have to stick to the isolation rule"

"People are quite rightly asking if I've broken isolation rules.

Because if you do that, you endanger your fellow human beings,” he explained.

"We have to stick to the isolation rule," said Lauterbach.

Otherwise people with symptoms would go into the office and employers could put pressure on their employees accordingly.

"We can't want that."

On Friday (August 12) Lauterbach gave an outlook on the Corona autumn.

According to this, the summer wave in Germany should be over, but there is no reason to give the all-clear in the pandemic.
