Lula da Silva and Bolsonaro lead the polls and the difference narrows as the elections approach

The electoral campaign begins in Brazil marked by Jair Bolsonaro's unfounded attacks on the country's electronic ballot box electoral system and the high inflation of recent months.

The current president's main opponent is former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

The first round of the presidential elections will take place on October 2.
