LCSD's 16 performance venues have different facilities

After the accident, Huo Qigang set up a concern group to listen to the advice on stage safety from front-line personnel, professionals and concert organizers in the industry.

Today, I met with a number of industry representatives and Liu Mingguang to reflect the opinions of stage safety.

All industry representatives believe that stage safety should be improved, but the positioning and facilities of the 16 performance venues of the LCSD are different. Tightly regulate the stage industry.

In 2008, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department abolished the post of "Stage Supervisor" in the Red Pavilion, and the Yi Pavilion also lacked relevant positions.

The industry considered it necessary to employ safety officers at both venues to oversee the operational safety of all maneuvering devices on stage, supervise technical rehearsals, and make risk assessments.

After the MIRROR accident, the LCSD launched three short-term measures. The industry hopes that the LCSD can publish the investigation report as soon as possible, so that the industry can have a clearer view of future work arrangements.

Fok also hopes that the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau and the LCSD will fully communicate with the industry before formulating measures to ensure that the measures are feasible.
