We already know that Overwatch 2 will be coming to us on October 4th and unlike the first title it will be a free-to-play game.

Now the Blizzard company releases an announcement on the official website that players will be able to log in with their Battle.net account and save the progress, skins and items earned in the first Overwatch (Cross-Progression).

How will it work?

Of course, players will be able to play directly through Blizzard's platform, but the game will also be available on other platforms such as the digital stores of the consoles or Steam.

PC and console players (PS, XBOX, Switch) will be charged for a Battle.net account, no matter what platform they play on.

Your set or user account in the digital stores will automatically be linked to your Blizzard account after you download the game.

If this does not happen, you will have to link the accounts independently from within the game itself by logging in and identifying a user.

Please note that only one account per platform can be linked to Overwatch 2. This means that if you have several users on the computer - only one of them can be linked to the game, and they cannot be combined into one account.

This also applies to consoles.

The game is going to introduce several new game modes, new maps and characters, in addition to updates to gameplay, characters, and quite a bit of new content.

The competitive mode of the game is changed to join the 5v5 standard as in most competitive team games these days, compared to the 6v6 in the first game.

The characters themselves will also be adapted to the new game style.

Overwatch 2 will be released on 4.10 for the PC and the PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles and the Xbox One, Series X\S, and the Nintendo Switch.
