The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the international community continues its silence regarding the continuous Israeli settlement plans throughout the West Bank, especially the occupied city of Jerusalem.
In this regard, the Ministry condemned in a statement reported by Wafa Agency that the occupation authorities announced today a new settlement plan to establish 434 settlement units on the lands of the town of Sur Baher in occupied Jerusalem, considering that it is an integral part of the campaigns to Judaize the city and distort its Christian-Islamic identity and change its existing historical, legal and demographic reality.
The Foreign Ministry considered that this announcement falls within the framework of a racist colonial expansionist scheme that aims to isolate Jerusalem from its Palestinian surroundings and an extension of the crimes of the occupation and its settlers on the land, including the deepening of settlements and the theft of more land, undermining any opportunity to reach a just settlement and establish a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
